Why Sun appear red in the evening and morning?

 Did you ever notice that sun appear red in morning and before sun set during evening?

Reason:

               We know that Sunlight consists of seven colors namely Violet, Indigo, Blue, Green, Yellow and Red. The red color has highest wavelength while Violet has the shortest wavelength.

This is the property of light that the wave with higher wavelength will be visible at longer distance. It means Red light will be visible to greatest extent where other colors are invisible. So all other colors will be scatered to sky and only Red color will reach us this is the reason that the Sun looks reddish during morning and evening as it is at highest distance from earth.
